On March 13, 2009 more than 130 people gathered in an overflowing room in Lake City, Florida to watch Glenn Beck’s We Surround Them TV special. Glenn stressed the importance of people coming together, renewing their commitment to live by the principles and values upon which this nation was founded, and of waking up our neighbors to the perilous times at hand. The group vowed to continue to meet, to find ways to strengthen each other, to let all know that we are not alone and to peaceably take back our nation. Today, the North Central Florida Tea Party is divided into smaller working groups that help us to be effective and to maintain order. These groups are designed to include about 10 members, have a specific focus area, and are to meet either physically or virtually on a frequent basis in more intimate settings such as homes or coffee houses or online. The large group meets monthly and each working group will have one representative who will report to the large group. All members of the Tea Party organization are encouraged to join a working group. The 9.12 is 9 Principles and 12 Values that America was founded on: 9 Principles 1. America is good.
2. I believe in God and He is the Center of my life.
3. I must always try to be a more honest person than I was yesterday.
4. The family is sacred. My spouse and I are the ultimate authority, not the government.
5. If you break the law you pay the penalty. Justice is blind and no one is above it.
6. I have a right to life, liberty and pursuit of happiness, but there is no guarantee of equal results.
7. I work hard for what I have and I will share it with who I want to. Government cannot force me to be charitable.
8. It is not un-American for me to disagree with authority or to share my personal opinion.
9. The government works for me. I do not answer to them, they answer to me. 12 Values Honesty
